Redundancy
The Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) sets out the minimum standards for employment including the amount payable for notice and redundancy.
The amount payable to you will depend on your years of service with additional payment if you are over 45.
If you are employed under an Enterprise Agreement or a Modern Award the entitlements may differ from the National Employment Standards.
Some small businesses are exempt from paying superannuation.
If you are required to pay redundancy but your business is in financial difficulty, you can also apply to the Fair Work Commission to vary the amount of redundancy to be paid.
